Help 4 Haiti

Moving pixels bring us close to the tragedy.  Stories flood the Internet.  People Hurting.  People Afraid.  People Bewildered.  People God loves.  We are so removed, but yet so moved by it all.  We want to help, but don't know quite what to do. 

God has prepared us to assist in two distinct ways.  Firstly, God built up Passion for Community (P4C) and Spring with a staff trained to organize and manage tangible goods and provide them to those in need.  Secondly, He has given us the Bud Building, a nearly empty 84,000 square foot warehouse in which to put stuff.

God only asks us to give that which is in our hands.  And that is what we intend to do. The Bud Building is now an official Collection Center for mid-term relief assisitance and support.  Designated items will be collected through February 13, and will then be funneled  to our partner, Northwest Haiti Christian Mission.  They in turn will deploy the goods thru their distribution channels in Haiti to serve in the name of Christ.

Please continue to:

  • Pray. Stop right now and pray.  Pray for the man, the woman, the child you saw on the news.  Pray that relief will reach them quickly.  Pray for the relief workers, for their strength, and their stamina. 
  • Give.  Here are a couple NOW suggestions that we can vouch as ministry partners:
    • Northwest Haiti Christian Mission: Independent Christian Church mission.  In Haiti 30 years.  Diverse ministries.  We have done several mission trips with NWHCM and support their ministry. 
      • Texting "Support NWHCM" to 20222 donates $5.00 directly to earthquake relief and recovery.
    • International Disaster Emergency Service: The purpose of IDES is to bring glory to God by bringing help and hope to our hurting world by providing disaster emergency services. Among independent Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, the work of IDES is unique -- the one source our churches and missionaries consistently turn to for help.
  • Raise.  Talk, Blog, Twitter, Facebook. Lead an "Action" group at work or school within your circle of influence.  Create a ministry focus in your small group.    
  • Contact us. Let us know what you are doing.

What is P4N?

The world is a big place and there are lots of cultures where the love and power of Jesus is unknown.  P4N is our vision to see relevant churches planted in each of these cultures. This vision guides New Life’s involvement in what God is doing in the world.  New Life may not plant churches in every culture where there isn’t one, but God will . It’s His whole Church working together that will get it done.

What’s our goal?
God has a part for every follower of Christ in His global plan!  We want every person to understand how He can use them to share Jesus’ love cross-culturally and equip them to have major impact.  Working together we’ll be able to bring Jesus to people of other cultures who don’t yet know him, helping them to plant culturally relevant churches in their own communities.
